At-will

Under common-law, this phrase describes the relationship between employer and employee that exists without a written contract or other agreement guaranteeing job security. An at-will employee may be terminated at the will of the employer without reason or cause. See also Wrongful Termination, Arbitrary and capricious, and just cause.
