Hanan Idilbi, Associate

Hanan Idilbi joined Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP in May of 2007.

Ms. Idilbi received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Duke University in 2001. In 2007, Ms. Idilbi graduated summa cum laude from American University Washington College of Law where she was a Public Interest/Public Service Scholar. Ms. Idilbi served as a staff member on American University Law Review and was inducted into the WCL chapter of the Order of the Coif.

As a student attorney in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, Ms. Idilbi litigated on behalf of an asylum seeker from El Salvador and participated in the representation of a Guantanamo Bay detainee. While in law school, she was awarded a Goodwin Proctor Public Interest Split Summer Fellowship to work with the Tahirih Justice Center where she successfully assisted an immigrant woman obtain relief under the Violence Against Women Act. As a summer legal associate at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, she worked on a variety of civil rights issues affecting the Arab and Muslim communities.

Prior to law school, Ms. Idilbi worked as a Refugee Resettlement Case Manager in North Carolina, assisting low income immigrant families with access to legal and social services. Ms. Idilbi is fluent in Arabic and has intermediate proficiency in Hebrew.

Ms. Idilbi is admitted to the North Carolina bar and her application for admission to the District of Columbia Bar is pending.
