Nicole J. Williams, Associate
Nicole J. Williams joined Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP in May 2006. She concentrates her practice on a range of civil rights litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Williams was an Associate in the Commercial Litigation Section of a major law firm in Philadelphia, PA.
Ms. Williams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Yale University in 2000. In 2004, she received her J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the 2003-2004 National Moot Court Team and won the Best Brief award in the 2002 Edward C. Stone Appellate Moot Court Competition. Ms. Williams served as the 2003-2004 president of the Boston University Black Law Students Association and in May 2004 the Boston University School of Law Alumni Association awarded her the Spencer R. Koch Memorial Award.
As a student attorney in the Boston University Civil Litigation Clinic, Ms. Williams successfully represented indigent clients in various civil litigation matters including a victory in a political asylum case for a client from the Democratic Republic of Congo. During the summer of 2002, she completed a legal internship at the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Williams served as a Research Fellow at the Center for Law and Social Policy in Washington, D.C. where she assisted in the organization's efforts to improve public child support enforcement, child welfare and various other issues facing low-income families. Ms. Williams is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
