Ari Wilkenfeld is a seasoned employment law litigator, who has experience as both a management-side labor lawyer, and, for the past six years, as a plaintiffs'-side employment attorney. He is a founding partner of Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP, where he concentrates his practice on employment discrimination, employment contract and non-compete issues. Prior to joining Katz, Marshall & Banks, LLP, Mr. Wilkenfeld was a partner at Bernabei & Katz, PLLC, where he achieved a $1.10 million verdict in a sexual harassment/retaliation suit against a local university.
In March 2006, Mr. Wilkenfeld, as a member of his previous firm Bernabei & Katz, PLLC, received a Presidential Citation from the American Psychological Association. The citation commends Mr. Wilkenfeld for his "commitment to fighting on behalf of psychologists and others who have faced unjust discrimination, sexual harassment, and psychological intimidation in corporate, educational, and governmental settings". The Citation praises Mr. Wilkenfeld as being "among the best employment lawyers in the nation."
Mr. Wilkenfeld is an active member of the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyer's Association, and the Metropolitan Employment Lawyer's Association.
Mr. Wilkenfeld received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University in 1993. He received a J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1997, where he served as a Senior Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Labor and Employment Law and an Associate Editor for the Comparative Labor Law Journal. He was a Legal Research Fellow and a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law School's National Mock Trial Team.
