Katz, Marshall & Banks partner Debra Katz was quoted in an article that appeared in the Los Angeles Times titled “Fox suspends business news host Charles Payne amid sexual harassment allegations.” The article reports on the suspension of Fox Business Network host Charles Payne over allegations of sexual harassment made against him.
Payne, who is the host of the Fox Business Network show “Making Money” and is married, has admitted to having had a three-year “romantic relationship” with a married female political analyst who made appearances on the network in the past. That relationship became the subject of an internal investigation after the woman reported to the network’s law firm that her involvement with Payne was sexual misconduct. Payne, through his attorney, denies having committed any acts of sexual harassment against the woman.
The allegations against Payne are part of a much larger and seemingly widespread problem at 21st Century Fox. Multiple high-profile individuals affiliated with the company have been accused of sexual misconduct within the last year. Katz commented on this ongoing aspect of the story, saying, “It seems the atmosphere was so poisoned with sexual harassment that if you lift any rock you’re going to be able to find more.”
