Michael A. Filoromo, III and Matthew LaGarde Present on Whistleblower Retaliation and Reward Programs

Katz, Marshall & Banks partner Michael A. Filoromo, III and associate Matthew LaGarde delivered a presentation at the July 2017 National Employment Lawyers Association Eastern Pennsylvania chapter meeting on retaliation claims under the Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank Acts and the SEC Whistleblower Program. Topics included the Department of Labor’s broad interpretation of protected activity under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Supreme Court’s recent grant of certiorari to determine whether the Dodd-Frank Act’s anti-retaliation provisions extends to internal whistleblowers, and the nuts and bolts of identifying and filing an SEC whistleblower tip.
